Festivals

Puppet festivals are held annually in 40 to 50 cities in Japan. They differ to one another; in some cities, the local government plans the puppet festival; in other cases, the voluntary committee in the community organizes the festival. All of them are open to performers and visitors alike, making the art of puppetry familiar in the society with their unique local heritage and energy. The Center has contributed to realize many of those festivals, supporting the organizers in the community.
